Translated from the Original Hindi by Kanwar Dinesh Singh
My article was respectfully published in a reputed magazine. I turned to the page of the magazine featuring my article with delight, like a mother caressing her little baby. The scene from two months ago swam before my eyes.
As soon as I turned my computer on and typed the password, he shut his computer down and started talking about unnecessary things. I shut my computer down and started listening to him, but then he again turned his computer on and started typing something. He stopped talking with me.
Half an hour passed. I thought things were over. I had hardly turned my computer on again and started typing the second line when he shut his computer down and started staring at me as if I was chatting with my boyfriend.
I said softly, “I have to send an article to a magazine.” He looked at me sardonically, thinking how an inept person like me would be able to write something.
He asked, “What is the topic?”
When I told him the topic, he said, “Okay, let me write it for you; you can send it in your name. You can’t write anything just like that. You should write only if you understand things very well.”
I said, “When you write it, send it in your name.” Then I shut my computer down. At night, I completed the article and sent it to the magazine.
The magazine is still on my table. What should I do? Show it to him! My mind says―no use!
The magazine is still on my table. What if he sees it?―Thinking of this, my confidence has grown even more than before.
